Alev Runtz, Consultant
In the business for close to 15 years, Alev has experience launching and promoting consumer products, managing corporate and consumer marketing campaigns, strategic program development, non-profit communications, and, of course, media relations. Her expertise lies in creative, strategic thinking, keeping the trains on the track when it comes to execution, and always thinking “is there something else/better/different we could be doing?”
Prior to working with the Chicago Public Relations Agency, Motion PR, Alev was a Vice President in the Consumer division at Weber Shandwick Worldwide’s Chicago office where she worked for 5 years on Oscar Mayer, including the national Wienermobile tour and introduction of the Mini Wienermobile, the KFC Snacker hidden message campaign and several national Milk Mustache campaign initiatives geared towards moms. Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Alev was most recently with Cube Public Relations, a boutique consumer food public relations agency in Chicago and Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, an integrated marketing agency in New York City.
Over the years, Alev also has worked with the likes of Starbucks Coffee Company, several Quaker Oats brands, as well as PUMA, Grand Marnier, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, The Home Shopping Network, The Weather Channel USA Networks, and BBC America. On the non-profit side, Alev has helped raise profiles of Riverkeeper, an advocacy group dedicated to safeguarding the ecological integrity of the Hudson River, its tributaries and the watershed of New York City; The Robin Hood Foundation, a New York City philanthropy; and Around the Coyote, which supports emerging artists in Chicago. She also has served on the public relations committee for the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association’s Windows of the Magnificent Mile event.
Alev received a bachelor of science degree in communications from Northwestern University. In her spare time Alev wastes her money playing fantasy football.
