Sayonara, Motion PR, says the intern

After 3 months at Motion PR, Katie is following Steve Carrel’s lead and is leaving the office. This internship was a crash course in more than just PR. Entrepeneaurship, leadership, tenacity and diligence were all on the curricullum and she’s passed with flying colors – thanks to her mentors. This is what she has to say about the Motion PR team;

Kimberly: I have never met a woman with so much ambition and drive. “You’re not a business-lady, you’re a business, lady.” As a boss, I’m sure you’re one of the best. Between Nestle providing stress relief and you providing a sugar fix (or 8), you keep your employees happy, and everyone knows happy employees produce solid results. So thank you for letting me in the Motion PR circle, learn a few (and by a few I mean a ton) tricks of the trade and giving me the opportunity to prove myself.

Jamie: You are grace under fire (please excuse the Bret Butler reference) – not to mention your very impressive collection of dresses. I’ve never met a young woman who is so hard working and yet has so much fun. Your demeanor on the phone and wit in pitches is the perfect recipe for a successful PR professional – which you totally are. Thanks for believing that I could run with the big dogs (you).

Kerry: You, friend, were my fairy god-mother this spring. Thank you for the opportunity to meet Motion PR and learn of this internship. Thank you for Firkin. You’re nuanced understanding of whom to pitch to, what and how helped me land many-a hit. From you I learned how to walk that fine line between fun and work, between friendship and professionalism – not to mention your coaching on my calls. Thanks to you, I’m easy and breezey!

Phil: Thank you for your direction. Coming into this office with little knowledge of the 9-5 work scene and no knowledge of PR, your insight really helped my understand my role at Motion PR.  When the “girls” started their “girl talk” I was always impressed by your ability to screen cute-boy talk from short/long-lead talk. Thank you for pushing me to follow up, follow up and follow up – that persistence is the best way to produce results.

Tommy: I’ve left some big shoes for you to fill, so good luck! Make sure to listen to everything the team says to you, and anything you overhear. Golden nuggets of professional knowledge flow around here like it’s 1840 in California.

So thank YOU, Motion PR for this internship – I’ve gained more than you know.
